Help !!!!3.8 omc steering problem 1983 sunray
We purchased a decent sunray 1983 model with a v6 io 3.8 omc. While turning the steering gear came out of the hydraulic steering system and locked up the steering. I looked in behind the engine and can see a plastic bushing and a pin that goes thru the shaft is distorted and the bushing is out of place. If I need to access the steering can it be done by going thru the rear boot or does the engine have to come out. I am a mechanic by trade but my omc seloc manual covers trucourse steering and I do not see anything in this manual that covers hydraulic.can anyone tell me what to at least look at and what manuals i need.
