I have a 2003 90hp Johnson and I believe my fuel pump is out. Alot cheaper to get a regular fuel pump and mix the oil with gas I heard. Is the mix 50:1? Would you pay $450 for a standard pump for oil injection or go the premix route? Looking for suggestions and the right mix! Thanks

Yes you need to run a 50:1 oil/fuel ratio. I don't care for the VRO systems, I would convert it and mix my oil and gas. That is just my opinion, I am sure others will come along with other opinions.

No, I would not pay 450 for a pump just to have oil mixing. The ratio is 50:1 or 16 ozs to 6 gallons of fuel. Just make sure you remember to add the oil since you haven't been having to do it. Neighbor burned his engine because he "forgot" to add oil the first time; there was no second time.

Thanks guys. No I'm not sure my fuel pump is out but it runs and idles great. When i do a hole shot full throttle, it bogs and coughs out, stays running though. Did it a feew times and then ran good, now doing it almost all the time. Called a shop and the mechanic said it sounds like fuel pump is going out and mentioned it would be better to use premixed if I had to change it. Anymore help or ideas would be great as I really don't know much about boat motors. Thanks
