I need some advice from my fellow Chaparral owners -
I recently purchased a used 1991 Chaparral 2000SL with a 5.7 liter Volvo Penta Duoprop. The boat looks and runs great. My only problem is that I can't trim my outdrive without starting the engine. Is this common on the 1991 Chaparrals? I don't believe the previous owner did any wiring or changed any wiring that could have messed that up. Also I noticed that my boat does not have the 3 positions you normally have when you start your car. For example "key-in", "on" and "start". My boat only apprears to have the "key-in" and "start" position and that's why I can't trim up the outdrive without starting the engine. Somethings not right ... Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!
