Help 1977 Johnson 50 hp

Need the settings for timing , Points , Plugs on this engine ,1977 Johnson 50 hp powershift. <br />Thanks in Advance.

Set the points at noon on the 25th if it's a Tuesday. Sorry, I couldn't resist. There are no points. Use L77JC4 Champions with todays fuel.<br />Good luck!

I was getting the information for a friend and had no way of knowing that ! Whats the gap on the Plugs ?

Set them at .035. They should come set pretty close and they will work at .040.<br />Good luck!

Thanks so much . You seem to be very knowledgeable about this motor . The problem is that it will start sometimes and then other times it won't . Could it be an electronic ignition ? Thanks again
