I am in a fix. I have lost the aluminum plate that covers the left side of the transom on my 76 Mariner outboard. (see photos)
Do any of you have any idea where I might find such a part? Perhaps a salvage yard or aqaintance who might have an old mariner hulk.
I would greatly appreciate your help.

Re: Hello MARINER owners

I bought a part off of a Holiday from a good guy who replied. The side and back configurations are the same as my boat but, it is not as long or as wide over all and it doesn't come down over the transom as mine does since the Holiday is an I/O and my Mariner is an outboard. I am in the process of modifying it to fit my boat but, if I can find an actual original part, I would much rather use it. However, if I can not, I will continue to modify the Holiday part.

Do you know of a possible lead to the true part?

Do like I did. Cut it, fit it, tape it and fill it with JB weld. Sand smooth and repaint. You'll never know the difference.
