Heat Alarm and plastic Tube

I'm helping my neighbor with his 2002 75 hp 2 stroke motor. Heat alarm went off so we changed the impeller. The alarm still sounds(continuous) and does so after disconnecting alarm. Is this the sensor or something else? I've read it could be alarm control module. Where is that on the engine and can an amateur test it? Next question. There is a small plastic tube on the front of lower unit that is connected at one end by a 90 degree brass coupler. It's about 8 ins long and has a slip connector on other end. What is this and where does the other end connect. I've scoured the whole area and can't seem to locate . Thanks in advance for any assistance. Jim

Do you have the s/n of the engine? Do you have the service manual for testing the alarm system?

The hose you are referring to is probably the speedometer hose which connects to another hose going forward to the instrument panel.

That hose is indeed for the speedometer.--------Pitot pick-up is on the lower unit.----Saves time drilling / sealing a pitot tube on the transom.-Neater too.
