My fiance and I are getting married near Kimberling City on Table Rock Lake on the 27th of this month, we are going to stay for the week, and play around on our "new to us" 93 Lake Raider 20' pontoon, 85hp Johnson .. maybe do some tubing and fishing, sight-see and relax.. taking her kids and their hubbies with us for the first few days..
any suggestions, warnings, places to go/avoid, known problems/hot-spots?
We are staying at Caboose Junction, which offers a boat slip and ramp, not planning on eating out much, tho I hear Big Cedar Resort has a great restaurant..

any info from folks who have been there or are locals would be appreciated!!
Thanks,
Chris

EDIT: I guess this place we are staying at is actaully closer to Lampe Mo than Kimberling City, I think its the Mill Creek Area?

I spent a lot of my childhood on Tablerock in the Cricket Creek area. Love that lake, but unfortunately I don't have anything useful to tell you since I was just a pup. I can, however, say congratuations and best wishes and have a great honeymoon that lasts longer than the week at the lake.

All of the Missouri/Arkansas mountain lakes are fabulous places for a Staycation. They are large lakes, with many sloughs and coves. It is actually easy to get lost.

My only suggestion is to get a map, and keep track of where you are.

The people of SW MO and NW AR are very accommodating. Be sure to enjoy them while on your honeymoon.

Congratulations! Me and my wife have been married for 35 years now. We've gone to Table Rock Lake every year for the last 9 years. We rented a pontoon boat once while we were there. I can't tell you alot about the lake other than it's a beautiful area to be. The lake is clear. You could cruise over to Table Rock Lake State Park Marina, park the boat then take the pedestrian walk down to the Branson Belle Showboat for a good meal and a really good show. When my wife retires next year, we plan on going for a month to two and will be taking our pontoon along. Have fun.

The Top of the Rock was a restaurant at Big Cedar Lodge's golf course. Had a fire several years ago and reconstruction seemed to be VERY SLOW If it has been rebuilt when you are there, it was always my wife's and my favorite and we look forward to eating there again (some time.)
