Great Site,
I’m planning on replacing the head gasket on my 1991 200hp Evinrude, how difficult of a job would this be? Is there anything special that I should know?

Thanks…Al

Re: Head Gasket

It's not a technically challenging job, but a manual (or at least the torque sequence for the head) and a torque wrench are required.

Thanks for your quick response Fouled Plug,

I have the original manual from OMC and a torque wrench, so I guess I have what I need. Thank again.

I have another question concerning fuel octane, what should I be using? (87,89,92)

Thanks…Al

Re: Head Gasket

A very simple job. Be sure to use a quality gasket. With the demise of Aqua Power the only one I would suggest to use with confidence would be the Evinrude/Johnson gaskets.

FRESH 87.

Good luck!
