Head Gasket Torque and sequence

I have a 1995, 90 HP Johnson. I cannot find this information anywhere. Is there a standard that I can go by or is every motor different. Thanks.:confused:

18 to 20 foot pounds, in the following sequence.

9....10
5.....6
1.....2
4.....3
8.....7

To be honest, this is my first with replacing a head gasket. I am assuming it is numbered as such:

-3----4
---5-6
-7----8
---9-10

I ordered Seloc online due to the fact I am working overseas and do not wish to wait forever for a manual. I have yet to find this information on Seloc.

Selocs are good for cleaning up oil spills, especially when you are new to repairs. The factory manual cannot be beat.

You start in the center and spiral outwards and Joe stated. Imagine each of his numbers is a bolt and start in the center as he did. I would start with 10 or 12 ft/lbs to start, go through the pattern, then start again with the final torque setting.

No, your numbering is wrong. Look at Joes numbering...with 1,2 in the center....that is the way to tighten them.

And you have a torque wrench and know how to use it?

Uh, yes. The wrench was never the issue. Sequence and torque were the questions asked. Thank you to all who have assisted. Very much.
