Alright I'm stumped! I have a 140 mercruiser that ran really rough! Buddy and I figured I was prolly running on one maybe two cylinders. I ran a compression check and had no compression in two cylinders, and only 30 in two others. However the gauge never stayed in position. I also failed to mention that I did have milky oil. Which lead me to a bad gasket. So I broke it down had the head redone, and all new gaskets. I've got it back together and now I get no fire. Read the plugs they are sparking. I'm worried I might have blown piston rings as to that would be my next guess. But I've been told even with my first readings the motor should have never even started. Someone HELP! Before I lose my mind!

Milky oil can mean a cracked engine block. Did you inspect the lower end of the engine while the head was being re-done?

Have you run another compression test now that the engine is back together?

Is the engine timing correct? or at least in the ballpark?

Ayuh,..... My guess is, yer fightin' a lost cause,.....

Milky oil says cracked block,....

No compression, or 30 psi is a dead motor,....
