'84 Force 120 HP - Hey Guys, I'm wondering if I can change my head gasket myself. She's blowing water from the bottom cylinder. How difficult is it to replace it? I can hold my own when it comes to my tractor or cars but this scares me. Thanks!

Re: Head Gasket Replacement

I rebuilt my motor completly twice (long story) and had no real issues. I am not good with cars, but these things are fairly simple. I suggest getting a manual (Seloc if you can) so you have all the torque settings and stuff. The head gasket is pretty easy to find on line. Napa may even be able to get it.

Yeah go for it. Get a Seloc book from Amazon or someplace cheaper and dig into it. You might find that not many OB mechanics won't work on it, so oyu might want to get familiar with it.

In my opinion, you do NOT want to buy a Clymer manual. I have one and it skips a lot of info. I used my friend's Seloc manual to rebuild my motor.
