having problems cranking over

im trying to find top dead center on a cobra 460 and when i try to bump it with the key it sounds like the solenoid just clicks so i jumped the solenoid and it cranks over but when i was put my finger over the spark plug on number one cylinder and bump the solenoid i'm getting shocked through the block, anyone know where to look for the short or is it just the solenoid?

What we working on?? Year? Serial#s
You unhook the coil wire?
Is the plug lead grounding out on the block?
Solenoid would shock all the time the key was turning not intermittenly.
Sounds like your leads are shortin out?
Key OFF???
