Have adjust idle every couple of weeks?

About every couple weeks my rpm's go up or down. Not sure why. Screw seems to be tight every time I turn it. Remanufacture carb this year,so spring does'nt seem worn on screw. Would love some ideas what might be causing this annoying problem. Rochester carb, Merc,228,GM5.0 Thanks for any info.

I had something like that go on a few years ago. Ended up being a hole in the float inside the carb. Worst part was that I had just rebuilt it so it was the last thing I looked for. But upon inspection, one of the solders was cracked.

Thanks for the info. Will check before storing boat for the off season.
