Has anyone "re-cleared" their boat?

I am at that stage of my resto that I need to start thinking about the finish. I have polished it back to a shine a few times, but I will not be able to do this much longer before I get into the metal flake. I searched the forum and I have been reading a bunch of thread about clear coat, but I have not seen any pictures. Has anyone used 2 part auto paint and have some pictures of how it turned out? I have all the equipment and have done paint on vehicles many times, but I am not sure how it would fair on a boat.

my boat has base/clear I did last year, it has only been a year but it has held up pretty well but is prone to scratching.

Your prep time is what will kill you on that deal, you have to get all the wax and silicone off before you reclear.

It is a really big job, as you know, but it can done but I would only do if the boat is trailered, don't know how it would stand up to constant submersion.

Ayuh,... Generally speaking,...
Refinishing those metal flaked hulls usually turns into a total Repaint situation...

I shoot boats All the time with automotive 2pt. urethanes...
