I am new to PWC I have a 99 STX1100 that runs great, but when you crank it for the first time when it has been awhile it is hard to start.
I guess it needs a primer kit? The rest of the day it starts on cue everytime. What is the best quick fix for this? Can you use an inline pump bulb like the old outboards?
I bought this ski to sell, if anyone is interested it only has 33 hrs and comes with a nice Shorelander trailer. I have 12 pics of it online at my site www.howellscycle.com ASKING $4500
THANKS IN ADVANCE- You can email your comments to me at howellbike@aol.com

Hey
What kind of choke do you have automatic or manual?
Im not really familar with this model but on every ski i have owned i had manual one and without pulling the choke i could crank and crank and it wouldnt start ...specially after sitting for a while ...

Dom

I have the manual choke and it is pulled all the way, once it runs for the first time never have to choke it again. I see primer kits for sale and now I think I know why :) just thought I would ask the experts.
Thanks for the reply.

The primmer kits are the bomb..... They are WELL worth the 20 bucks (or so) for them.

SeaBoo2 thanks for the reply, my local Kawasaki dealer didnt like the primer idea at all so I was hoping someone in the know would guide me.I will surely give them another look, thanks!

I can not understand why they don't like the idea, (aside from they might not get labor off of it) they work great (I have had 5 skis and installed them each one (the choke thing gets to be a pain). For what it is worth my Seadoo (and any ski I've seen with a manual choke) has to be cranked that way (first time with the choke then it will crank on it's own the rest of the day).

I had a GP1200 that was a bear to start on a cold engine. I had to fully choke it and hit the throttle once or twice. It would then start.

I installed the primer kit and I couldnt be more happy, it starts now anytime like I just got off of it.They should be on them from the factory but that would hurt the starter sells. :)
Thanks guys

Eric
