Re: hard to get out of gear

Welcome!!!!!!
Step 1 : order a factory manual at theoutboardwizard.com or kencook website
Step 2: Try this

1) place control in NEU
2) Remove stbd side cover where control cables enter motor
3) Remove cover plate (3/8 hex bolt) over the adjust nuts
4) Remove clip on end of shift rod and disconnect
5) Manually shift motor from Rev to Neu to Fwd and back to Neu
6) Adjust barrel nut (adj nut with star on front)so cable reconnects easily and replace clip
7) Replace adj cover and cable cover, test.
8) You may need SLIGHT adjustments of barrel nut to get full engagement in fwd and rev if your cable has stretched.

If your not familiar or comfortable doing this, wait for the manual and the pictures will really help. If cable is really stretched or damaged, replacement may be necessary.

Good luck
