connector

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can anyone tell me where I can purchase the wiring connector that plugs into the electric fuel pump on my 1997 Sea Ray, 190, 4.3 engine. I have had to install a momentary on switch to turn on electric fuel pump to put fuel into the carb. since carb. runs dry after sitting for a week or so. Had carburetor overhauled and plugs sealed but still the gas disppears and will not start cold unless I prime with fuel or whatever. After initial cranking runs fine until it sits for a few days, then a repeat of the same. Now sometimes with the switch fuel pump does not run unless I wiggle the connection at the pump then it runs...I hope it is the connector and not the fuel pump, want to try connector first.

Also, is a regular car or truck fuel pump for a 4.3 the same on a boat. If so I would assume electric fuel pump would be cheaper to buy from NAPA or a new car truck dealer rather than a boat dealer. Does anyone know this answer? Also if anyone can give me advise on the fuel pump connector or a possible fix I would appreciate it very much.

It sounds to me like you have a fuel pump on it's way out. Your pump should have no problem filling an empty carb. It should begin working as soon as you have oil pressure and be able to get enough fuel into the carb to fire the motor within just a few seconds.
How's your oil pressure? and have you checked the oil pressure fuel cut off switch?
