I have an 84 7.5 hp Merc 2 stroke that is hard to start. I have taken off the carb 4 times....soaked it, cleaned it, rebuilt the fuel pump, put a new carb to block gasket on, new needle valve. New plugs. After I get it started it runs great and will continue to restart on the first pull throughout my fishing trip. Idles fine. Runs fine. When it is a cold start (I live in Miami, FL so cold is not really cold) it will fire on the first pull with the choke ON, but then die and I have to pull at least 6 times to get it to start OR .........give it a shot of Ether and it will start right up and run great? Thanks .....Pulled too many times AL
