1998 Mercury 150 offshore, carbs.
This engine is hard to start and yet runs great once out an running. I have to be at WOT to get it to start and then in cold idle its fine. Once it warms up the idle drops to 700-800 and stops randomly when out of gear and idling. It also then becomes hard to start again, I pump the bulb till hard and then use a bit of choke to no avail. If it sits a bit it fires right up.
I intend to rebuild the fuel pump and replace all the vacumn and fuel lines. Any thoughts here? I have had two V6 units in a row and this one is far harder to start that the previous 135 I had.
Thanks,
Pat
