I have a 170cc Angler with a 75 Mariner on it. When getting up on plane or just cruising there is no problem but when i go to WOT i get a slight tilt to the left on the boat and the steering pulls hard to the left.

Is this just a skeg adjustment that is needed?

Re: hard pull to left at WOT

It sounds to me like the boat is also listing to the left under full throttle? That sounds more like a hull problem. Either weight distribution, trapped water, or damage to the hull surface.

It could also do that if the motor is trimmed too far down where the motor is pushing the bow down.

Make sure it's centered on the transom. The gearcase should be centered right inline with the keel.

In most situations, the trim tab on outboards should face rear-edge slightly to starboard. If it faces at all left, there's something else wrong (or it's a counter-rotation model).

I also had this happen on a Crestliner trihull with a Merc 60 and a whale tail. Removed tail, problem solved.

You aways turn the rear of the trim tab in the direction the steering is pulling
