I'm trying to locate new keel rollers for my 1981 EZ Loader. 5"long x 3"dia. x 3/4" shaft . More info below.

There are three rollers, all in a single long bracket. (Not individual brackets for each roller.) The rear roller is a cylinder, but the two forward ones are normal hourglass shapes. (I think my dad, the previous owner, swapped out the rear hourglass shape for the current cylindrical.)

The hourglass rollers are rotted and need to be replaced. The are 5" wide by 3" diameter. The hard part is that the shaft is 3/4" (or approximate. I didn't have a caliper, only a tape measer. But they are certainly >5/8.) The very ends of the shaft, where they seat in the bracket, are 1/2 inch. However, as the shaft leaves the bracket and enters the actual roller, the shaft tapers out to the 3/4" diameter.

I can't find even a mention of this size roller anywhere.

Re: Hard 2 Find Keel Roller

Why not drill the bracket to 5/8" and replace the shafts and rollers with readily available 5/8" ones? Considering most boats spend 90% of their time on the trailer... a few extra bucks to replace the existing setup would be money well spent IMHO.

The EZLoader website says that they have many of the older, hard to locate parts, but that you have to call them. Here's the number from their site:

509 489-0181 ext 219

http://www.ezloader.com
