Good on the relaxing but it sucks on the boat! :)
Down here in the Puget Sound area we pretty much boat and fish year round.

On the down side, no snow mo-billing (sp) or Northern lights!

Last year we could snowmobile for 4 months straight between Jan and end of April (because of the total of 14 feet that feel in that period of time) but the year before, most with sleds never got out more than once or twice because there was only a week or so of good sledding weather.

Winters are screwing here in around Ottawa. Love sledding but with the avg of 4-6 weeks of good weather, I stick to my fair weather toy (boat) At least I get to enjoy it 5 months of the year.

Hey Link

Glad to see that you miss those things about Alberta. I grew up in Lacombe and lived there untill 1980. Beautiful town of over 11000 now.

When I was a kid there, I would ride the milk wagon and help the milk man carry milk and take care of the horse.

Just coming into the season for both snowmobiling and northern lights. The northern lights are way more spectacular up where my daughter lives near Ashmont. That likely could be said for most any place north of here though.

Now I live way to close to this place.

Thanksgiving is to celebrate the fall harvest. Fall just happens to come a little sooner for us snow bound Canucks.:(

Just to let our Canadian friends know, the wife (Canadian lass) and I celebrated the holiday here with about a dozen friends who were very appreciative of the Canadian Holiday. We had our usual ; cabbage, turnip, carrot, potato, stuffing and Newfie steamed pudding!

The only twist was the turkey was deep fried and came out just wonderful.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the "early" start to the season!

By the way, it was 87 and humid! :p

Thanks giving in our house was interesting . My wife had to work so my 25 year old daughter stepped up to the plate and did her best. It wasn't bad but i still have this funky burnt smell in our kitchen. I'm proud of her she tried and had fun doing it.:)

My wife informed me just now we need to buy some new pans.
