I have a 1974 5.5HP single cylinder and was wondering if someone could tell if it is water or air cooled? According to all the manuals the single cylinder models were air coolled but mine seems to have a water inlet on the gearcase. Is this because they use the same case for all models?. It also does not seem to have a neutral and no shift lever.

Kiwiguy,<br />The Eska engines were air cooled, but their exhaust was water cooled so that the midsection wouldn't burn you. There's a conventional type water pump like a regular outboard just above the lower unit.
