A relative had an older Suzuki, couldn't find a stater for it. I read a test in a magazine with those three outboards comparing them on the same boat (I don't remember more of the details). The bottom line was the Merc. was the best choice with the OMC second, they rated the Suzuki last because of poor fuel economy not poor performance.

It seems, Suzuki has started a new ballgame. The new 4-stroke Evinrude/Jonhson motor will be Suzuki in different colors. Their building a new parts distribution plant. Things could be changing. Having said that, why do you want to be the first 'kid on the block' with one? I personally want to see what happens as to reliabilty, etc. They have a new 250 HP, V-6, coming in late 2003. How does that song go "Fools rush in, where.. ;)
