Tarpon Springs, FL Report

April 14, 2005 * 12 Hour Reef Fishing Trip
Captain Bobby said the Starship enjoyed a beautiful day of fishing on Thursday during a 12-Hr trip. They had plenty of throw backs on the deeper drops around 25 miles offshore; during the afternoon Capt. Bobby moved closer inshore where they saw warmer water and larger keeper groupers. The 13 fares managed eight keeper groupers; Jim Wilborn of Valrico, FL took the grouper pool with a 9.75 Gag Grouper.
April 15, 2005 * 8 Hour Lazy Bones Trip
The Starship didn’t enjoy the same weather Friday as she did on Thursday! In spite of the sunshine it proved to be a difficult day of fishing with the wind blowing 20-25 knots. The weather contributed to no keeper groupers but still several gray snapper were caught.
Update April 15, 2005 * 44 Hour Middle Grounds Trip
The high winds kept the Starship from going on the Middle Grounds trip this weekend, Captain Rich and the crew are hoping for fair weather next week to kick off the run of Special American Red Snapper Trips. The trips on 4/20/05 and 4/22/05 are SOLD OUT…but there are still openings on the remainder. See the schedule on the website for a complete list.

Montauk, NY Report

SPECIAL NOTICE: We have an opening day weekend special for FLUKE. The boat had 200 plus Cod, 200 plus Haddock and 41 Wolf fish (the most Captain Steven has ever caught on a trip). The weather was lovely up at Stellewagon and the fish cooperated. Thanks to the Freeport Tuna club for a great charter! We have another offshore trip leaving April 22 - call for reservations.
Wednesday April 13 - 1 Day Extended Cod trip - EXCELLENT FANTASTIC fishing! We had a total of 200 Pollock, 100 cod, and 100 plus red and silver hake. The Pollack averaged 8-12 pounds with some tipping the scales at 20 pounds. The silver and red hake were up to 37 pounds in size. The am bite was very good with Pollock and cod biting, and the cod cooperated again in the afternoon. Hake were caught all day. There were practically NO short cod (too few to even count) and NO short Pollock were caught at all. See new pics in the gallery! Captain Dave, Captain Steven Jr. and John want to thank everyone for a REALLY enjoyable day. The trip was so good we have another next week April 20 at 12:30 am.
