Guess My weight !!!

I have an 87 searay seville with a 4cyl 3.7 mercruiser, on a 4 wheled braked trailer. Could anyone have an idea of what this may weigh as I would like to know if I could tow this with a BMW 520i rwd.<br />Thanks

You don't need guesses, Neil. You need facts.<br /><br />I really doubt that your Beemer is rated to tow over 1500#; maybe not over 500#. Find out.<br /><br />I don't know how big a Seville is, but I doubt that your package would come in at less than 2500#. The fact that your trailer is a tandem with brakes suggests that it is over 3000#<br /><br />My guess is that it is VERY unlikely that you can safely tow your boat with your car.

When ever I need to get a weight on something like that I just take it to the local garbage transfer site.

The boat alone is going to be in the 2700 - 2800 pound range. Add 30 gallons of fuel (6#/gal) all your gear, weight of the trailer (another 700" or so and you are at or over 3500#. Don't know what year your BMW is but it was definitely not designed to safely tow that load, even if a proper hitch could be installed.
