While supplies last.

I've got a 1970 Laron 185 with a 4 cyl Mercruiser I/O sitting on a single axle trailer. Anyone have a rough approximation of what that rig weighs? I am considering getting a new truck, but I don't want to have to drive around constantly in a big V8 truck if I don't have to.

(Not that I have anything against V8's, my 56 Bel Air has one, but feeding them isn't fun anymore)

Oh, what do you know, the last guy got my last keychain ;-)

I would guess boat is between 1600 and 1900 lbs, then add trailer, gear, fuel ect... Should get you 2000 to 2500..
Something with a larger v-6 should pull it fine.Just remember if the trailer has no brakes a smaller vehicle would not be near as safe.

those old boats weigh more than the new ones, i agree with having it weighed. Florida does not require trailer brakes under 3,000 lbs. but i have them on my 18' center console, as i tow it with a Mercury Mariner 2.3L 4 banger, and tows like a dream. 90% of the new 6 cylinders make good towing vehicles, just not stopping vehicles. get the economy in the vehicle, and put brakes on the trailer. i tow the 23' Chris Craft (4700 lbs) with a 99 Surburban, 5.7L
