gt150-200 upgrade

i have a true 1985 johnson gt 150 model number confirmation. My question is what is the difference between a 150 175 and 200 and what can i do to hop my 150 up to a 175 or 200. have been told some 150's have 200 heads and what not but what do i need to check on the carbs and heads to know what i have

you can sell your 150 and get a 200, 225 or 175, that is the cheapest and best way to get more HP. it is possible to hop up your motor, but it will take someone who really knows what they are doing, a complete engine rebuild along with some special changes to the ports, then some other stuff I am not sure about and in the end maybe an extra 25-40 HP...there is no simple cheap way to increase your horse power.
