Today my motor began draining my batteries while the motor wasnt even running. When realized I had a problem I loaded my boat and brought it home. Then I notice that the flywheel was getting hot even though the engine wasnt running and steel draining the batteries.I took and disconnected the motor from the battery.Has anyone got any ideals on what my problem is?

Welcome to iboats randy.

Likely a short, probably in the stator or rectifier.

Gonna have to pull the flywheel and find out what was heating up under there.

Any smoke?

Check all wires for cracks or signs of shorting.

I took off the flywheel and found that the stator had melted all over the top of motor.I hooked back up the motor to the battery and tested the sealnoid tested hot until I disconected one of the wires going to the stator. So I will replace the stator and then see what happens.

You may also want to have a check the voltage regulator when you have the top of the engine opened up.
