Grumpy old man !

I'm just 41 now, and have realized that I just might be turning into a grumpy old man already... Things that bug me today:

1. All the commentary and negative opinion surrounding the Russian high-jumper (how she's such a bi&tch) and that Jamacian sprinter (how he's such a show-off). Neither situation seems remotely true to me. They're clearly head and shoulders above everyone else, and if American we'd be proud of them. What a bunch of a-holes the American public is sometimes.

2. Idiot boaters when I'm out there. No need to add details here, as we all know what I'm talking about. Constant aggrevation.

3. My parents moved to Florida 2 years ago had have maintained two large storage units here (they downsized). They think they can move all their useless crap into my basement to save the storage fees. Wife dead set against more junk in the house. No way out of this one I'm afraid.

4. Election politics. Oh, GOD just make it STOP !!! Lowest common denominator, hateful attitudes subtly disguised, racial undertones, class warfare, etc. Government should just go away and leave me alone... I need nothing and want nothing from anyone, and resent any attempt to level the field. I earned it, so leave me alone (I'm in the highest total tax area in the country).

5. People in general. I think I'm becoming a grumpy old white guy already.

HELP !!!

Well, with the exception of #5, your annoyances sound pretty legit to me. Happy 41 and welcome to iboats, youngster (I'm looking at 44 around the corner).

#2....thats common with i boaters...the closer you get to MBS...(multiple boat syndrome) the more common everybody else on the water is a "jerk"

#3....two words.....GARAGE SALE

#4 change the channel or move to canada so youll really have somthing to complain about...(taxes)

#5.....have a "sody pop and go fishin

Well, I find that the older I get, the less I suffer fools. That's what makes me an oldepharte.

An idiot lives in his/her own little world and doesn't know any better. A fool knows better, but decides to do it his/her own way.

You haven't met my father yet! 64 years old and grumpy as can be with a capital G. The worst thing is all his brothers younger and mostly older are the same way. My father and 2 of his brothers can't get along. You know why? Because they are to much alike.

I don't know of a cure for grumpy, maybe that is what I should be doing instead of fishing and working on my boats, come up with a cure.

I'm seeing a pattern here........................BTW....................... Grumpy maybe..............on occasion...................old .................only if I live long enough.................especially if 60 is the new 40.........................old is a ways off.............

Boy..I know the cure for this one. When I hear the wife say something like " well, aren't we a little grumpy today?" I know she has just hit my awareness button.
I sure as heck don't set out in the morning to be that way, but God forbid a few things start going wrong or I think the whole world is out to get me, I get in "that mood"
However, all I need is to hear the remark and make me aware without gettin in my face and right then and there I have an opportunity to change my day.
You know there is this saying...anger, one letter away from danger...that I hear from a buddy and how true.
And, as has been posted, ten minutes later and most is already forgotten.
Also, how important is it anyway.
As the spiritual guru Wayne Dyer used to say to people.." you know, you're right about that".
Seems to make a lot of things just go away when you don't have to be right all the time.

Thanks guys... I'm better today (since I'm outta here for golf in Lake Placid at noon!). Now, if I can manage to shoot under 90 I'll be happy all weekend. If not, LOOK OUT FOR THE GRUMPY OLD MAN !!!

Great weather for it! I was up above Schroon Lake yesterday.... finally a few nice days.
