Grounding studs on bell housing

I pulled my engine and put on a new bell housing. The two grounding studs were in bad shape and so were the nuts holding the wires. I found studs at the hardware store but they are black oxide and wanted to make sure those are ok to use. Also, I use stainless nuts but didnt use the star washers so I may need to redo. Do I need to change anything out? Here is pic of the area Im working on. In the pic, the nuts dont look like stainless. They almost look like brass!

I would simply rattle can some paint over the connection when you are done or rattle can some marine electrical varnish over the connection.

Ayuh,..... That'll work,....
Thanks....just to clarify, the picture is not what I have, just a stock photo of what it looks like from the factory! I got a new test light to poke around and make sure the grounds are good!

Use 150 grit to get to shiny metal to get a good ground
