First of all i would like to say iboats.com is the greatest site i have ever found, I LOVE IT! Now for another small problem, i have a 1967 65hp Mercury i replaced my ground wire from the battery to the motor, but the wire gets warm after a few times cranking, is the normal? does this motor require two grounds? by the way i have done some rewireing on this motor, one wire at a time. maybe i could have took two out at some point and forgot where it went.

Re: ground wire getting warm

Did you make sure the battery terminal and the connection to the block were real clean when you installed the wire? Does it seems like it's really laboring when you try to start it? Could be te starter is putting too much of a load on the system, causing the wire to heat up. Does the positive wire remain cool? Not knowing what was rewired, it's just a guess as to what the problem is. Was it doing this before? Why was it re-wired? What do you mean "By a few times cranking"?
