Gross trailer weight rating

In another post, I posted the results of my boat/trailer weigh in, ~7300 lbs.
I believe my GTW is greater than 7000 lbs, but I have to double check with loadrite since the placard is unreadable. If I have 3500 lbs axles, how can the GTW be greater than 7000 lbs?

Another side question since this is the first time towing with radial tires...is it normal to see the sidewalls flex as you bounce over bumps? I don't remember seeing this with my old boat/trailer that had bias tires.

Yes, radial tires flex. It’s part of the design.

Oh...yeah....duh...I'm forgetting my physics. I guess it would be a problem if the tongue could suspend itself in the air
