I tried that and after I opened the can of tuna, all the tuna fell thru the grill grates.

What kind? Yellowfin I would sear rare. Deep red meat, almost like a steak. It's awesome that way!! Albacore can be done that way too, but since the meat is white it looks less appetizing to non-sushi lovers . . .

Re: Grilled Tuna

I prefer tuna marinaded in something, soy sauce, ginger marinade, italian dressing, whatever. I like albacore grilled to where the center just turns white, but yellowfin and bluefin just get the outside seared and served rare or medium rare.

Side dish, cut zucchini in half lengthwise and score through center a few times. Marinade in ginger marinade for a few hours and grill flat side down until grill marks form, flip over and sprinkle with a healthy layer of grated parmesan cheese. Remove from grill when the cheese is melted.

thats why you just open it, drain it, then throw the can and all (upright of course)on the grill. :p

I like my albacore (loins) covered in olive oil and fresh chopped garlic, covered with cling wrap and put in the fridge for about 20 min. You then remove the cling wrap and fry or grill for about 3/5 min. on all three sides. The only way you can hurt good fresh fish is to over cook it.

Soaked uncooked in lemon juice onion , celantro and chopped raw serrano or jalepenos..Ceviche!

Also love seared rare with teriyaki, with sesame seeds

If eaten a slice of bluefin out on the water in SoCal with wasabi, while watching the big boy thump on the deck..Over the rail and into my mouth..Any fresher and I'd have to have jumped in and take a bite outta him in the water!
