Great news

Well last weekend was probably the worst weekend of my life. My boat sunk....
Well already (monday) this has become the best week of my life. I got the news form my mechanic that she will run again! You could only imagine the smile on my face when he called. Just figured I would share my good news with all of you!

That's great news. It's pretty common on a particular lake I used to frequent for a boat to be back on the water the same day after sinking before noon.

Believe it or not it was not the plug. My grandfather gave me the boat and it was kept in a slip in fla year round. I brought it home to MA and it's been on the trailer. Last weekend was the first time it had been in the water for any period of time w/o anybody in it. I replaced the bilge w/ a older one that had a automatic switch on it. The boat had a slow leak and my assumptions were that in taking the boat off the trailer so often I may have dislodged a patch causing the leak to be bigger than a "slow leak" or my older bilge just failed. It had sunk while moored in the marina, and sunk over night. Usually I am in the boat an I would just hit the button on the bilge and drain the water. Fortunately it didn't sink to far down and we were able to recover it w/o further damage to the hull. So I gotta do either some fiberglass repair or do some epoxy and make her water tight again!

well while I'm sorry to hear about your boat sinking, I am very happy to hear that it will run again, and even happier to hear that it did not happen while you were out on the open waters left floating somewhere.

Now throw those shades on and go have some fun on your resurrected boat!!!
