great LI beach

Had a great time at Democrat Point. Nice beach, easy to anchor, and stepped right into the sand. Kids loved it.

Where on LI wacho? We are in the NYC area with direct access to the sound. How far out on the island? If it is not too far it sounds like a great day trip. I have a 17 ft Sunbird Spirit bowrider.

it's by the Fire Island inlet, Democrat Point...Robert Moses.

I've never seen a sailboat there.

You know that you can stay overnight there?? My son has a jeep and surks all over the island. He and his buddys have camped there many times.

I've seen people camping in their vehicles. I might just give it a try next summer.
