Grease: Types and Applications?

I worked in a CO2 purification plant a number of years (let's not get into that) ago, and there was a lot of interesting reading material laying around. There were pubs on lubrication and various machinery and other stuff. I read a lot but remember very little.<br /><br />I'd like to know what the best greases are for various applications, such as wheel bearings, front ends, and marine applications. I have generic-type, lithium, and marine grease in my garage and am no longer sure where to use the different types, and I don't want to cause any unnecessary wear to any of my stuff! How many grease guns do I really need? <br /><br /><br />-dd-

I try to keep it real simple.I dont use regular lithium grease at all.I use Marine corrosion control wheel bearing grease on just about everything.Charlie
