Hello, I have a 4 stroke F250 year 2007. I want to grease the fittings under the motor along the steering rail.
How do you guys grease these fittings and what grease would you use? Thanks.

I just pump zerks with some of that Green Marine Grease from Walmart. Maybe good to give each zerk a couple of strokes with the grease gun fairly often to expell any water(especially saltwater) that might find it's way into those pivot or swivel points. Pump it in, it oozes out, wipe excess off with a rag...good preventive maintenance!...

Seems it is quite difficult to attach the gun to the fittings. Is there a special grease gun hose for this?

The zerks on all my Yamaha's have been just the standard items, just stick the standard grease gun on there and pump away. The tips of the grease guns are sorta spring-loaded so they "snap" on and off....helps it stay engaged while you're pumping! Are you remembering to remove those black rubber caps off the zerks before trying to put the grease gun tip on it?;) Good Luck!

Got a chance to grease the fittings. Counted 4. Is 4 the total number for the F250?

That sounds about right, like 2 zerks for the tilt bearings and 2 zerks for pivot bearings. There may be another zerk down at the lower unit prop shaft, but you have to remove the prop to access it...not all motors have that one. Grease your cowling latches to prevent corrosion.

Great. I didn't get any into the toughest zerk yet. Wet hands! Or I need an extension maybe?
Also, is there fittings for the throttle cable?

The throttle and shifter cables are factory sealed and lubricated and shouldn't require any greasing.
