http://www.myfoxny.com/story/176608...-fired-after-donating-kidney-to-help-her-boss

A "kind and generous" New York mom donated a kidney to help save the life of her boss -- who then turned around after she got what she wanted and helped fire the woman, according to an explosive new legal complaint.

Stevens said she did not realize that she was in for serious pain, discomfort in her legs and digestive problems after the surgery on Aug. 10, 2011. She said she felt pressured to return to work Sept. 6, before she was ready -- even while her boss was still recovering at home. When Stevens went home sick three days after her return, she said, Brucia actually called her from home to berate her.

That's gonna be one for the books. It sounds to me like the were both out to get ahead. One of them was 'buying a job' by donating a kidney, and the other one was possibly manipulating someone's life in order to get one.

Re: Gratitude? No, YOU'RE FIRED

There appears to be a second side to this story. Not sure who was right, but I heard this morning that she was offered a different position at another dealership within the Atlantic Group 50 miles away. She transferred to that job, but that didn't work out for her either and she was let go by the company.

Yep, it stinks, it is the perfect story to villianize someone, but what is the truth? I sure don't know. Just saying there are ALWAYS 2, no, 3 sides to every story ... mine, yours, and the truth.

I heard a little last night too. Definitely more to this story than "Here's my kidney." "Thanks, you're fired."

If someone gave me a kidney, there wouldn't be much that they could ever do for me to fire them.

You took the words right out of my mouth!

I would have to over look a lot of problems. I truly hope there is another side to this story and the lady who got the kidney isn't just a big turd. Ubelievable.

Bubba -

With all these threads that you have started about employer issues and incidents, perhaps you have a case of "Employeritis" :D

Very well put!

I wonder if the employee turned into an "I Want"

You know, I want more money, I want less work, I want more time off, I want you to treat me like royalty, OH, BTW, buy this for me, and this, and oh could you bring be my lunch ............... I own you now, I did give you a kidney you know.

Yeah, I would want to keep that person around.

Maybe I mis-read it but it sounds like all the problems happened / started three days after she returned to work and the "boss" wasn't even back to work again.

You may be right, since we all know how FOX is the most accurate and trustworty place to get news from.

Read the whole story! The kidney wasn't a match and the boss didn't even get it. He got it from someone else. All the woman's offer did was move him up on the list and her kidney went to a 3rd person.

Regardless, if your kid or parent (or even a spouse or mistress) needed a body part, many of us would donate. But who in their right mind would give it to their boss?

More to the story than what's been reported.

"You saved my life and I can never thank you enough, so I'll treat you horibly from now on."
There is much that wasn't brought into light in the article. The boss should never have asked the employee to donate her kidney for her behalf. Even though the donator said she wanted to do it.
