Ran across this graphic in an older sales brochure for Tohatsu. Shows what year they introduced their different motor lines.

Thought it might be interesting for some folks, but as Paul always says, if you're looking for any service information then your actual model number is much more important than the year. You have to click on the image to see the detail.

And on Tohatsu's website, they have this chart to decipher the 2 letter code of serial numbers starting in 2003. Look up the letters in the chart to determine the production year.
