I am going to take my family to granger lake (Texas) to let them fish for the first time ever! They are just now showing a little interest and I would like for them to have a phenomenal experience. We will be fishing for crappie. Are any of you willing to share where some hotspots are? One more question; where/how is the best way to put a minnow on a hook so that it will live the longest?

Re: Granger Lake Crappie Fishing

I usually hiik my minnows through the front of the eye sockets. I am carefull not to poke the brain or an eye out. You can also use the nostrils or in the mouth and out the nose but most crappie minnows are a little small for that. Behind the dorsal fin through the meaty part of the back is also good but the eye socket seems to be best for me.
