Even if you didn't know who Clint Eastwood was.... Saw it last night, it was a phenomenal movie. I'd recomend it to anyone.
You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll experience the full range of human emotion with this one.
I laughed my ***** off half the movie.... in the last 5 minutes of it i was looking around to see if anybody else was crying..... I wasn't alone.
I won't spoil a thing.... but if you've got the few bucks.... watch it.

Re: Gran Torino........

I'm looking forward to seeing this one too. "Gran Torino" was the first high profile production to film here after Michigan decided to offer big tax breaks to movie makers. My wife's friend watched a lot of the filming at a house across the street from her (not the Detroit house Eastwood's character lives in, I think his son's house in Grosse Pointe). Looking forward to landmark spotting, and checking out that sweet Torino (the first car I owned was a '73 Gran Torino). Not to mention, just enjoying a good Clint Eastwood movie.

Re: Gran Torino........

I was reading comments on Gran Torino from another forum.

Someone mentioned Chuck Norris, which was quickly met with a comment that Chuck Norris's name should never be used in the same sentence as Clint Eastwood,,, and then something that made me shoot coffee out my nose...

Saw it last Friday. Great movie. Clint's best work. I rarely attend movies at the theater................................maybe one or twice a year. This one was worth the trip, at least for me.

Yes, this was classic Eastwood. Great final performance. Nobody could have pulled this off at his age but Clint.

being an overprotective parent of a 13 year old, is this something he could see? standard violence is OK, he knows it is just made up, but graphic gore, open nudity, is a no go with me. any of that? thanks for the info. bob

The language while not profane is not well suited to the younger generations. Some of the references...................OK all of Clint's references to the ethnic groups portrayed in the move are right out of the late 50's. Names like "Chink, "Gook", "Zipper Head", to mention a few. Those to young to remember those types of racial slurs, will not/may not fully understand the lead character.

Great movie. As said, Eastwood is one of the few that could have pulled it off.

2 thumbs up!!! Great movie!! Clint Eastwood did a heck of job. When he said the first "ethnic slur" myself and a few others chuckled, after a while just about everyone was laughing.
