GPS Maps for Mississippi River

I am considering GPS for the river and was wondering if anybody has any experience with the GPS maps. I looked at Garmin's site but it does not look like it covers anything but the great lakes for inland use. Any suggestions on where I might be able to get them?

That's a good question. I wonder if they bother with such, since the river changes constantly. I would imagine a single flood would render such a map useless.<br /><br />Maybe someone with GIS knowledge can give a definitive answer.<br /><br />-dd-
