GPS external Antennae

Was going to mount external antennae on 1" pvc pipe 4', but found the threads on the gps mounting cone for pole mounting was 1"x14 (pipe thread,not pvc thread) a 4' antennae mast extension to mount it cost around $100.00. Anyone have any suggestions how to mount it on the cheap, there was an old cb ant. on the boat took it off, but left the mounting on, and it has the normal 1"x14 male thread.

Thanks boatist, I will order from iboats, they are half price $26, the stores around here want $60 up to $90 and other sites around $60
