SBT makes alright engines plus they come with the no fault warranty. The price will depend on the condition of your core trade in. If you have core damage then the price goes up.

If you're somewhat mechanically inclined, i highly recommend doing the swap yourself. A dealership will bend you over backwards for an engine swap. You'd be better off cutting your loss if you can't do it yourself.

Re: GP760 WAveRunner

I had 2 GP760's bought new. I highly modded each one. They are extremely easy to work on. I dare say you could rebuild it yourself with little problem. The 760's were 2 stroke so I'm not sure what you mean by "oil all over the bottom". The oil is stored in a separate tank and gets mixed in the carbs. Perhaps you have a leak in the tank or the oil lines leading to the carbs. At any rate, if the engine did not get the proper amount of oil, it would blow. I removed the oil tanks in mine and ran with pre-mix gas. I am sure you could rebuild this engine for a whole lot less than the cost of a complete engine. Try going to greenhulk.net and search there. It's a jet ski forum filled with a bunch of jet ski fanatics. Lots of knowledgeable people who will offer very good advice.
