Gp 1200 oil block off - premix question

I recently purchased a 1998 gp1200..was told by two different technicians that an oil block off kit is not necessary. Was told all that is required is to plug the lines and go to premix. Any reason why this would not be true? Thanks for input regarding this in advance..

No you don't need the kit, but it is only 10$ and you can install it yourself in under 10 minutes.
It makes for a cleaner no worries install.
