GP 1200 dropped power valve

Greeting fellow boaters, I recently acquired a GP1200R that had no compression in #3 cyl, so I took it apart and found that the power valve got sloppy and was rubbing the # 3 piston,... the piston will need replacing but the cylinder looks fine. Im going to give the cyl a quick ball hone, replace piston/rings, and power valve, new gaskets ect.
I'v rebuilt many motorcycles in my 50 yrs but this will be my first PWC engine Ive worked on.... and advice, tips, pointers will be greatly appreciated. thank you
ps I have the shop manual.
