First trip out, she didn't go into forward very smooth. At the time, it felt like I was slowing down and starting to go forward.. the video just looks like i'm drifting. I kept increasing throttle slowly and it jumped fairly hard into gear.
Rode around for a while, several 3/4 runs but never took it out of forward. Coming back to shore, popped into neutral to wait for boats to finish loading up... boat won't go into forward. Motor would rev, but never pop into gear. Could go into reverse.
I think the idle is a bit high, could this cause this?I know the gears make it hard to come out of gear, and requires the shift interruptor.. but does higher rpm make it harder to go into gear? or is this a shift cable issue?
I ended up going to the engine, and playing with the shift cables. Tried some adjustment of the rearest cable(think that's for forward).. eventually manually pulled on one cable which popped me to reverse, then manually pulled the other way and got it into forward..and came to shore.
This was the biggest concern of our trip...you can see the boat pop into gear here:
