It is possible indeed to change the shift cable bellows without pulling the hinge pins. Its kinda hard to feed the cable back into the hole, but all in all it was a straight forward job and the cable came apart very easy.
This bellows will sink a boat in a matter of 1 hour!!!! The hole is huge where the water runs in. The u joint bellows shows no signs of cracking, and the exhaust one shows a little sign of fatigue bit nothing to worry about this year. Somone installed the cable bellows wrong, it was too tight and was twisted.
