the outdrive was aligned by me...with the alignment tool...

Seems not have an alignment.

I'm having a "pro" do the alignment for me...

3 hours seem high?

Well,

I think it would take me a LOT LESS time to do it.

I think most people here that have done it a few times would take around 1-2 hours if it all went well. (it takes less than 30 min to remove an outdrive)

If there's a LOT of engine mount adjustment required (read: jumping in and out of the boat while fooling with the engine mounts a little at a time.....) It could take an hour just to get "reading the grease" right on the alignment tool!!!

There's approx 2 hours there if everything goes right! An extra hour if it doesn't, sounds reasonable to me I suppose........

I am a little more skeptical about the "vibration" being caused by the alignment being out a tad.....I am more inclined to think the U-joints or gimbal bearing might be at fault......

well the labor hours I guess make sense, once I really think about it...

The ujoints looked fine when inspected...but I'm not opposed to that being an option. Gimble bearing also looked and felt fine upon inspection.

Since this was my first time aligning the engine/drive and noone with anymore experience was there eiter, I didn't feel confident.

They are going to check the GB and Ujoint while they have the drive off just to make sure also. Thanks for the info.
